I’ve always struggled with communicating my thoughts to others, finding myself not being able to connect to my peers in any meaningful ways. I used art as my escape and realized I could make connections with others through my art. I want viewers to create their own meaning for the works. My acrylic and oil paintings follow the themes of memory, balancing representations of photographed images, and colors, moods, or false recollections I’ve unconsciously added to them. I lean into honest strong, negative emotions expressed in a way that I wouldn’t consider looking “beautiful”.
